2021 07 19-23 Supercomputing Frontiers Europe 2021 conference

Supercomputer Frontiers Europe 2021 will be the 7th edition of the annual conference which originated in Singapore in 2015 and subsequently was moved to Warsaw, Poland, organized by ICM University of Warsaw.
The topics for SCFE21 will be: special architectures, storage class memory, hybrid cloud/HPC, smart systems, hybrid quantum computing and HPC, Omics and Systems Biology, convergence of HPC, AI and Big Data, Semantic and Graph methods, and more. As the registration fee has been lifted, the participants will be able to
follow the full program of the conference remotely from any place worldwide with internet access for free.
The format of the event is a three-day conference and two-day workshops. In order to accommodate
participants from multiple time-zones, the sessions will run between:

7:00 AM-1:30 PM (San Francisco, LA)
2:00 PM-8:30 PM (Warsaw, Lagos)
6:30 PM-1:00 AM (New Delhi)
9:00 PM-3:30 AM (Tokyo)

We strive to give an open space for the HPC community to interact and discuss visionary ideas. Join us an  event where we will discuss the future of supercomputers, machine learning and much more…!

PDC Summer School 2021: Introduction to High Performance Computing, 23 August – 3 September 2021

The PDC Center for High Performance Computing (PDC) and the KTH School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) welcome you to our „Introduction to High Performance Computing“ summer school.

Interested students and researchers (with academic or industrial/commercial backgrounds) from anywhere in the world are welcome to apply to attend the course.

This course provides the skills needed to utilize high-performance computing (HPC) resources, and includes an introduction to a range of important topics, such as:
  • Parallel algorithms,
  • Parallel programming,
  • Modern HPC architectures,
  • Performance analysis and engineering, and
  • Software engineering.

More information about the school, including a link to the application form, is available on the 2021 PDC Summer School webpage: https://www.pdc.kth.se/summer-school/2021

The closing date for applications is the 30th of June.

ENCCS Workshop on Intermediate OpenACC/CUDA, June 28-29, 9:00-12:30

ENCCS Workshop on Intermediate OpenACC/CUDA, June 28-29, 9:00-12:30

This workshop targets researchers and developers who already know the basics of OpenACC and/or CUDA but would like to expand their knowledge. It will build on the ENCCS workshop “Introduction to OpenACC/CUDA” given on May 4-5. Novice OpenACC/CUDA users are also invited to attend but are strongly recommended to first study and do exercises from the lesson material of the introductory workshop – see https://enccs.github.io/OpenACC-CUDA-beginners/.

The workshop will consist of lectures, type-alongs, and hands-on sessions.

  • OpenACC lectures will present the OpenACC framework with three key steps in porting to high-performance accelerated codes: analysis, parallelization, and optimization.
  • CUDA lectures will cover two main topics: how to optimize computational kernels for efficient execution on GPU hardware, and how to explore task-based parallelism using streams and events.
  • We will also briefly go through profiling tools that can help one to identify the computational bottlenecks of a program.
